Assumption

Image
Now there’s an ugly word.   Lol I’m sure we’ve all seen the diagram where they take the word assumption, and create the words “ass out of you and me”. I personally think there’s a great deal of truth in that diagram. Lol. Jealousy is such an ugly spirit. Perhaps the ugliest aspect of its operation is how calmly “good“ people, even Christians, tolerate its influence and behavior in their life. I have even watched (in horror) as they laugh and take it as a compliment when someone is jealous of them.  Truly baffles my mind.  Jealousy, like lust, perversion, deception and murder needs to be resisted and obliterated from our lives whenever necessary! The Bible says it like this, “Jealousy is as cruel as the grave“. If you tolerate jealousy, you are inviting “the grave“ into your life. If you act in jealousy, you are sowing seeds of the same! Death is no joke. Of course, our society tries to make it one, decorating clothes, toys, jewelry, and much more with a skull and c...

God Can Not Act …

Image
… in only one area. It is by His choice. I’m sure it breaks His heart, many times, but … He is. Free will. He gives US final say.    He gives us us the final choice.   He gives us complete choice and if we choose sin.    There’s very little He can do.   “But He’s God!?!?” I can hear indignation rising in your thoughts from here. lol Yes.    He is. But He loved us enough to give us free will to make the choices in our lives. He loves us enough to want us to love Him freely.   I once saw an episode of a crime show on TV where someone was kidnapped and kept in a basement and forced to play the part of spouse to the kidnapper. It was evil, it was scary, and thankfully they were rescued in the end.  What does that have to do with our relationship with God? Well, if he didn’t give us a choice whether to love him, or not, how would that be any different?   God does not want prisoners. God does not want robots. He wants ...

Incoming!!!

Image
Incoming! We humans often draw a huge bull’s-eye on our chest for satan.  We humans can be so self sabotaging.   Clueless we walk right into his trap. Galatians 6 tells us that we will reap what we sow. The theory of karma (though incorrect as a religion) theoretically, and popularly known “as you get what you get” is true. What goes around does indeed, come around. You’re probably thinking, “that has nothing to do with me. I’m a good person. Well, first of all, none of us are as good as we think we are.  lol  Humans tend to be very generous with ourselves in that regard. But are we really? You’ve never had someone in your life that you were jealous of? That when you got the opportunity to do them good, in their need, you, just “forgot about them” You’ve never had someone in your life that irritated you, but you kept “coming around” because it benefited you financially? they were generous, loving and giving to you, and your family   But the minute it was of no b...

The “List”

Image
The List  Get a piece of paper and a pen. Now right down the answer to each one of these questions.  You just found out your child is dying. Who do you call?  You just found out your spouse is cheating on you. Who do you call?  Your house just burned to the ground. Who rushes to be by your side and gives you a place to stay? You just found out you have an incurable disease. Who do you call?  Your broke down on the side of the road. Who do you call and know they will come help you?  You’ve just been robbed. Your house is a mess. Who do you call and know they will come help you clean it up? You find out your child has become addicted to drugs or alcohol. Who do you call to come and be your prayer partner and pray your child out of hell? It’s Christmas and all your family has dispersed. Who invites you to come over and be with them so you will not be alone? You should have a list of names by now. I hope you do. But you should have at least one or two. This is ...

Fruity Friends

Image
The following thoughts, observations, opinions are not directed at any one group of people or church.  They are simply my heart felt, (broken  hearted) feelings observed over a lifetime of serving in and attending several different churches.   I am sharing them (only) in hopes we ... as in ME ... and you ... can learn and grow. I’ve seen some huge chasms develop in the people in my life. Things I am still “mulling over” and trying to absorb, understand and get through.  Some of these situations shocked me in good ways, some shocked me in very sad ways.  I am still "processing" and praying over them. I opened my Bible this morning to Mark chapter 4. This is one of the places in the Bible, where God talks about conditions for sowing a seed. I felt Holy Spirit tell me,  “people … friends … are like seeds.” Some are like seeds sown along the wayside. They are only there for a moment they never even take root. Some are rocky ground. They receive you with gladnes...
