Assumption

Now there’s an ugly word.
Lol

I’m sure we’ve all seen the diagram where they take the word assumption, and create the words “ass out of you and me”. I personally think there’s a great deal of truth in that diagram. Lol.

Jealousy is such an ugly spirit. Perhaps the ugliest aspect of its operation is how calmly “good“ people, even Christians, tolerate its influence and behavior in their life. I have even watched (in horror) as they laugh and take it as a compliment when someone is jealous of them.

Truly baffles my mind.

Jealousy, like lust, perversion, deception and murder needs to be resisted and obliterated from our lives whenever necessary! The Bible says it like this, “Jealousy is as cruel as the grave“. If you tolerate jealousy, you are inviting “the grave“ into your life. If you act in jealousy, you are sowing seeds of the same!

Death is no joke. Of course, our society tries to make it one, decorating clothes, toys, jewelry, and much more with a skull and crossbones, the universal symbol of death!  I have actually seen parents buy onesies with it on them to put on their baby . “Oh, that doesn’t mean anything.” Really? Then why is there so much in the Word of God about symbols, symbolism and how Christian should have absolutely no influence from works of evil?

Do you really want to put the universal symbol of death on your children?   But that’s not really my focus, I just threw that in for free. Lol.

One of the main catalyst for jealousy is seeing someone else get blessed and feeling they don’t deserve it.  Believing you deserve it more.

The Word of God admonishes, us not to judge people for many reasons, but this is definitely one.

You see their blessings.

You don’t see their pain.

You don’t see the nights they laid awake crying out to God.

You don’t see the days they struggle just to breathe, but refused to give up on the promises in the Word of God.

You don’t see the years of anguish they walked through, faithful to God and their family.

You don’t see the times they went without to give to someone else in need.

You don’t see the decades of commitment to the body of Christ, and the Word of God.

You don’t see their heart, unwavering in faith, standing and believing when their world fell apart.

You don’t see the years of abuse that they chose to forgive and walk away from.

You don’t see all that was stolen from them and, again, chose to forgive, and let God be the judge over.

You don’t see the betrayal that ripped their heart out, but they gave it to God, and refused to let bitterness destroy them.

You see the blessing.

And in your great wisdom, you decide they don’t deserve it but you do.

Until you repent of that, jealousy and judgment towards them you’re going to block YOUR blessings. I just refuse to believe, you are that cruel hearted.  Jealousy often perverts the situation in your mind to gain access to your heart. Don’t listen to its lies.

And if, God forbid, you’re not willing to do what they did to get the blessing. You have absolutely no right to complain, and you certainly have no right to be jealous!  You’re demanding a paycheck for a job you refused to do. It doesn’t work that way. It doesn’t work that way in real life and it doesn’t work that way in the Spirit and things of God.

If you see someone, that’s more blessed than you, you need to make them your new best friend. You need to be kind to them, bless them, spend time with them and most of all listen to them!

Listen to how they have responded to situation’s in their life. Listen when they talk about their unwavering faith. Listen when they try to encourage you in areas you need to change in.

Another astonishingly, agonizing flaw of the American society is the complete refusal to acknowledge we might have actually done something wrong.

Well, you have, I can promise you that! You have done things, wrong many, many times. And… brace yourself… You will again. Wisdom acknowledges it. Wisdom repent for it.

Wisdom changes it!

Your  blessing is following wisdom, not in front of it.

Nothing good has ever come from being jealous of someone. Nothing good has ever come from coveting someone else’s blessings. I’m sure that’s why it’s listed in the “top 10“.

When God wanted to give His children 10 distinct rules to govern their society for the immediate time, and all time , He chose those 10 with extreme care.

Covetousness made the list.

We need to pause and think about that. We need to pause and think about that daily!

Don’t let jealousy linger in your heart. Don’t let jealousy grow roots in your thoughts. Resist the thought. Repent of any words or deeds associated with it. It is an evil and ugly SIN that only brings death into your life.
