Corse/Course Correction

Sometimes I feel sorry for God.
Don't look at me like that.
You should too.

He has to deal with us.
Headstrong, willful, temperamental.
Just when He carefully crafts and lays out a plan.  We do something and mess it up.

I have seem so many in the Body of Christ become so bitter and angry with God when they receive a Word of Knowledge or direction from Him and it doesn't go as planned.  They spit, sputter and stammer and point their (verbal) finger at God and demand why He "lied" to them.

This may be where the original "palm slap to forehead" originated.

As if in a contest between God or us missing it, it has to be God.

Now don't misunderstand me ... please .... I have had my moments.  I have been angry at God, too.  This is hard won knowledge I am speaking of.

But, rarely have I been so ignorant as to actually think God tricked me or God fell short.
Seriously ya'll?
He is GOD!

If He managed to send the sun back up in the sky, He probably can manage your/our issues.

Ok ...then ... you are asking ... what happened?  I did the best I could.

Good question and I don't doubt it.  I did too.

That doesn't mean you did everything you should have.
That doesn't mean you did everything right.
That doesn't mean you positioned yourself correctly to bring to fulfillment the promise.

So many times when we receive a Word of Knowledge we are so overwhelmed by the beauty, presence of God, etc we fail to realize there is a clause.  God certainly isn't trying to trick us.  Bear with me ... just a minute, please ... I really believe this will help you and release you from so much bitterness.

There is certainly nothing mysterious to each of us about these clauses.  God has usually been speaking to us and revealing them for years.  We receive our Word, etc and go "dancing" away.  Oblivious to the fact our Father is trying to get our attention for a reason.  He has, often, been trying to speak to us about something such as forgiving someone and we have resisted ... sometimes for years.

Very often ... very often .... God uses a Word to encourage us to step into HIS plan. There is ALWAYS a part we have to play.  Often, like our favorite movie, we grab the popcorn ... sit and watch ... and wait for God to do it all.  Never gonna happen ...well, rarely, for sure.

Holy Spirit, ever the perfect gentleman, will never embarrass us.  He gently leads, guides, encourages and propels us toward His goal.  He will not call us out.  He will not tell others our sin or rebellion.  He will not "out" us about anything.  He will tell us He has great plans for us.  He will tell us He wants to bless us, knowing we are still full of unforgiveness and must forgive to receive the completion of the promise.  He will tell us our ministry will be amazing, knowing we have to get rid of the anger and fear we operate in too much.  He will tell us our marriage will be amazing, knowing we need to quit fantasizing about others.  He tells us He will heal us, knowing we need to stop speaking evil words over the ones that hurt us.

If we do not ... then He can not ... and it's not HIS fault.

I want to pause ... just a moment .... don't, please don't ... fall the other way and begin to think your works will buy you anything.  No!  Jesus loves us.  He gives us ALL things freely.  And, all is all.  But ... especially in ministry ... WE CLOG THE TUBE.

If you have lung cancer from smoking cigarettes and receive this amazing word God is going to heal you, give you new lungs, raise you up to a great healing ministry and then do NOTHING to try to quit smoking ....  seriously?  Think about it.  Your preaching laying hands on the sick ... with a cig dangling from the corner of your mouth.  Yeah ..... NO!

In the same way we are all (probably) given words in our life, straight from the throne room, that are God's divine plan.  He has established provision, miracles and anointing for everything we need  .... if we .... fill in the blank.

You know what goes in the blank.
You created the blank.

And, often, we miss it.
You know exactly what I am talking about.  You can probably name a dozen people who didn't receive the fulfillment of their word and you can see clearly why not.

Now don't you fell sorry for God, too?

See ... here's the thing ... that dozen, above.  There's probably a dozen or so that can see where YOU have missed it. Yeah, we all are guilty.

I was recently praying about a situation. I know clearly I heard from God.  I acted in faith, didn't happen.  Did I miss it?  Sure at least about timing, if nothing else.  I was a little disappointed.  As I was praying I heard, corse correction and saw an old sailing ship.

After research I found this out ... corse is the old English origin for course.  It originally meant a human body, flesh.  It migrated to mean a person's course of action.  Which migrated to mean a systematic course of action (ie college course).

God was showing me, He is correcting my corse/course both my physical body and the steps I will take.  And .... how awesome and loving our Father ... it will be better.  It will be Blessed.  It will be wonderful.  I am correcting, as He shows me.  I am not bitter.  I certainly am not blaming God it didn't work out.  I am pressing toward that mark.  I am determining to listen more closely, next time.

Of all things in the Kingdom of God I believe the beauty of watching Father outsmart the enemy may be the most astonishing, to me.  To see Joyce Meyer stand and say (because of the amazing beauty in her life and all she has helped) she is glad her early years of trauma happened to her ... astonishes me!   In a similar way Jesus said, for the Joy set before Him He endured the cross.

God NEVER lied to anybody.
You won't be the first.
You missed it.
Period.
Get over it.
He did ... before you ever did.
He's already figure out a better plan.
Deep breath.
Corse/Course correct.

Pray for me,
I'm praying for you.
