Stay

Then the whole town went out to meet Jesus. And when they saw him, they pleaded with him to leave their region.  Matthew 8:34

 
I am stuck there.  Seriously.  Who does that?  The King of the Universe is here to meet your needs and  .... you plead with Him to leave.
 
I am speechless.  My mind can't move on. 
 
I realize I have also seen this, in my life.  People I love hurting, in dire need.  I feel compelled to share the Word of God with them, it is after all the answer to end their  pain, and they "plead with me to leave" sometimes figuratively, sometimes literally.  lol
 
Blind.  Foolish.  Because, after all, the issues isn't Jesus.  It is what He represents.  It is what He will require ... turning from their sin.  Their sin, the thing killing them.  They want it so bad they are chasing off the King of the Universe. 
 
Why?  They are blind and they are being ruled by the flesh.  The person in sin, such as addicted to drugs, needs to feed their flesh, their physical desire for the drug.  They just can't believe Jesus can be better. They don't want to loose their "high".  High, funny word.  Funny word for something that drags you lower and lower.
 
He is better.  He is higher.  He is worth "giving up" anything for. 
 
They chased Him off.
 
That had to hurt.  Rejection is never easy.  But, when someone you love desperately is hurting all you want to do is help them.  Heal them.  Imagine them screaming at you "to leave" knowing the instant you do, their pain will not only stay but, probably get worse. 
 
The bible only states "Jesus wept" once but, I feel sure He did, a lot more. 
 
Then there is the subtle "pleading" Him to leave you alone. When we ignore Holy Spirit's gentle request for time alone.  His gentle tug to read God's Word and find the answer's and light we need for our life. The Word's He gives us through His prophets and ministers we "forget", conveniently. 
 
The end result is the same. 
 
How different things would have been if they had pleaded with Him to stay!  Stay and teach them.  Stay and heal them!  Stay and love them.  Just stay.
 
Heavenly Father, I ask you to forgive me for the times I "pleaded with you to leave" subtly and openly.  I am so sorry. I humbly and hopefully request you stay.  Stay with me today, Holy Spirit.  Stay with me today, Father. Stay with me,  Jesus, forever.  I need you.  I am desperate.  I am a desperate flawed human righteous only through the Grace of God.  I need you.  Stay and love me.

“You Can Protect Your “House””

  There is an undercurrent of tension and violence in our world today, like never before.   It started before Israel was attacked on October 7. It has been “rumbling” for several years now.  There was a sort of “containment” to it until three years ago when the Democrats / Communist seized power in this nation.    Since then, open borders, losing our strategic oil reserves, the collapse of other governments, and many other factors have all contributed to a definite unrest in our world.   It will “come to a head”.  It will “boil over”.  This is not a stable situation, and it will not remain stable. There will be a climax point that will not be pretty.  I was reminded this morning about the story of Queen Esther. When Mordecai came to her to to intercede for their people she hesitated. What’s That Smell?

 Grief  it’s like an ugly smell in your house.  You know what it is  but, you know you can’t do anything about it and it will probably be around forever. It stinks. lol I think everybody handles it in their own way. I think it’s important that we keep working on handling it in different ways. Getting past it and what ever way we can and getting on with our lives. Which is exactly what the people we love would want us to do. Some thing I’ve been doing lately, and I do believe it was inspired by the Holy Spirit, is picturing mom in heaven. I know that’s where she is. I know the things she loves to do.  I know the people she wanted to see there ... She’s my mom. Even if I hadn’t taken care of her for the last 12 years… She’s my mom. I know her.  I can see her with those people. I can see her dancing. My most vivid thoughts, latelly, are seeing her in her office at her desk; typing away. She loves writting.
