Last One Standing Wins

After I dropped David off at school I decided to drop in our local, neighborhood Dollar General for a couple of things we need.  I like to peruse their aisles when I have a minute.  They have lots of merchandise turn over and with 5 children, 2 children in love and 3 grandbabies ... I have lots of birthdays (not to mention) Christmas gifts to buy.  I have two Gbabies who desperately love Mickey Mouse and his stuff is hard to find (seems Minnie is the Disney character in demand, these days).

I spend (about) an hour, ok maybe more, perusing.  When I finally get to checkout I had a buggy full.  Including some really cute gifts I was patting myself on the back for.  Little Dollar General checker is scanning away when she picks up a (particularly) cute item and (after scanning) says, "Oh, I can't sell this to you.  It's been clearanced." and THROWS IT AWAY.  Yep, snagged the trash can behind her with one shot.  My mouth hit the floor.  "Excuse me?" I stuttered and stammered.  "Oh, this too!" as she snagged the trash with another one of my (now extremely dear) treasures.  I am so befuddled I can hardly speak.  But, of course, I do.  "What do you mean? You would rather throw it away than sell it to me?"  She popped her bubble gum a couple of times and said, "Store policy, Ma'am."  Realizing I was getting no where with her I asked for her Manager. She smiles and robots the same thing as Ms Bubble Gum with Laser Aim.

I persist.

I discuss.

I remind them what a valuable customer I am.

I remind them Facebook is a click away.

I do not give in (anybody see where I'm going?)

I finally ask the Manger to call HER Manager.

She does.  He tells her to sell it to me for 10 cents. "That's a first" she says "He's never told me that before." Sometimes, we have to persist to see God's hand move for us.

Took 5 minutes, tops.

I did not give up

I get back in the car.  As it comes to life KSBJ is playing and God speaks to me through Big Daddy Weave.  "If I told you my story you would hear Hope that wouldn't let go, ... love that never gave up, ... when Mercy wins of the kindness of Jesus that draws me in .... you would hear Victory over the enemy.

Many people would've walked away.  Many people let their treasures be taken away from them with little complaint.  Many people see their treasures thrown away meekly compy (I never did do meek well).  I have done that many times ... but I've learned something.

Never give up.

NEVER!

I've had my Treasures devalued, stomped on, taken away and thrown away.

I (with the Grace of God) stood up SCREAMED,"NO!" at the devil.

I persisted.

I prayed.

I fasted.

I fell ... got back up!

I ordered my conversation "aright"*.

I waited,

and waited,

and cried,

and waited.

But, never gave up.

He heard me.*

I waited.

He worked.   I was blind to it, many times ... but He was furiously working.  I see now.

Years.

Yes, years.  Long, sometimes lonely years.  You may be thinking, "You should have given up." Oh, but you don't know how sweet my Victory is! You don't understand the Beauty of Restoration.  You just don't understand .... NEVER give up.

Stand

Perisist

Persist some more.

I was talking to David the other day.  I said, "We (humans) are so funny.  We pray and ask God to do something. A minute later, we see no results.  An hour later, we see no results.  A day... week ... month later WE see NO results so we forget about it.  Months, years later we see Harvest then are SHOCKED.  We are funny creatures.  We, mistakenly, believe time means failure.  Time is just time.  God has to work with us flawed humans.  He has to use people, circumstances and situations.  That takes time.  And .... if you don't quit YOU WIN!

Remember, Last Man Standing, as a kid?  Maybe "Twister" was your game.  It's all bout persistence.  It's all about diligence.  It's all about Trusting His Great Love and knowing He is furiously working for us and those we love ... as long as we DO NOT GIVE UP!  Do not sit down!

LAST MAN STANDING WINS!

Jesus, is ... was and forever will be the last man standing. We stand in His victory.  We stand in His strength.

Through Him, WE ARE THE LAST MAN STANDING.

WE WIN!!!!

Maybe not today ... but you will see your Treasures restored ... don't give up, sweet one.

Psalm 50:23
Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I shew the salvation of God.
Psalm 40:11
For the choir director: A psalm of David. I waited patiently for the LORD to help me, and he turned to me and heard my cry.
